OUR GOAL

World Youth Day 2027 will be in Seoul, South Korea. This pilgrimage will include visits to holy sites, prayer, Eucharist and an encounter with our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV. It is our hope that our youth will encounter Jesus Christ, deepen their faith, begin to discern their vocations and build communion.

Our goal is to be able to send every youth from our communities to this pilgrimage. Although this pilgrimage will be expensive, their faith is priceless. The Gospel says, “Ask and it will be given you; search and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.”

WHY YOUR DONATION MATTERS

Most of our prospective pilgrims are from large families who are trying to send several children to WYD Seoul, and our parish is made up of primarily low-income parishioners.  As a catechist and a mother who has accompanied our youth to the past four pilgrimages, I have seen the many fruits that have come from their attendance. Just like God took the people of Israel into the desert to show them his love and providence and make of them his people, while on the pilgrimages the youth have the opportunity to have an encounter with Jesus Christ and grow more connected to the Body of Christ.

Many young people have met their future spouses on the pilgrimages and now have Christian marriages and are courageously open to life. We currently have seven seminarians at the various Redemptoris Mater Seminaries who felt the call to the priesthood while at a vocational call on pilgrimage. Several of our young ladies are discerning the call to religious life. In addition, many of our youth have spoken about being helped in their struggles in everyday life, struggles with addiction, relationships and anxiety.

How often have we been stirred by the gospel, “The harvest is plenty, but the laborers are few, so ask the Lord of the Harvest to send out laborers to his harvest,” and prayed for vocations and this generation? How often have we felt the desire to contribute in a tangible way to the faith of our children? Consider sponsoring a pilgrim, this is an excellent and fruitful way to help send laborers to the harvest. Donations are an investment in the faith of these young people and in the future of the church and whole world. Courage, the Lord will repay you a hundred-fold!
